[edit] Background
Hell in a Cell will feature professional wrestling matches which involve different wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds, plots, and storylines that are played out on IWE's television programs. Wrestlers will portray villains or heroes as they follow a series of events that build tension and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches.
The main rivalry from Raw involves the IWE Championship. On September 18, 2011, Dustin Simpson defeated Justin Marlen at Night of Champions to become the ten-time IWE Champion. On the following night's episode of Raw, IWE COO Triple K announced the first-ever Triple Threat Hell in a Cell match, in which Simpson will defend his title against Justin Marlen and Justin Marlen.
The main rivalry from SmackDown involves the World Heavyweight Championship. On September 18, 2011, Steven Larson defeated Kevin McAlmond at Night of Champions to win his first ever World Title. On the following night's episode of Raw, SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long announced that McAlmond would invoke his rematch clause at Hell in a Cell, and that the rematch would take place inside the said structure.
