King of the Ring (2014) was a efed pay-per-view produced by the Global Wrestling Federation. It was held on July 27, 2014 in the Wells Fargo Center in TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. It was also the fifteenth annual King of the Ring pay-per-view event.

Background
King of the Ring will feature professional wrestling matches involving different wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds, plots, and storylines that play out on GWF's television programs. Wrestlers portray heels or faces as they followed a series of events that build tension, and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches.
The main rivalry leading to King of the Ring is a Triple threat match for the GWF World Heavyweight Championship between the GWF World Heavyweight Champion Steven Richards, GWF Intercontinental Champion Randy Orton and the former GWF World Heavyweight Champion Finlay. At Right to Censor, Richards defeated Finlay to win the GWF World Heavyweight Championship and on the same night Randy Orton defeated Christian and Snitsky in a Triple threat match to win the GWF Intercontinental Championship back and also to win a shot at the GWF World Heavyweight Championship at the King of the Ring pay-per-view. The night after on Raw is War Richards had his Championship Celebration, but it was interrupted by Orton who ended up RKOing Richards and than giving him a Punt to the Skull.
The pay-per-view event featured the annual King of the Ring single elimination bracket tournament. The qualification for the tournament started on the July 14, 2014 episode of Raw is War.
