The 2014 NFL Draft will be the 79th annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible football players. The draft, officially called the "NFL Players Selection Meeting", will be held at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on May 8–10, 2014. The draft's traditional timeframe in late April will not be available in 2014 due to a scheduling conflict at Radio City Music Hall, and the NFL plans to continue holding the draft in May in future years as part of a permanent offseason calendar change.

Selection Order

For more details on how draft order is determined, see National Football League Draft#Rules for determining draft order

The selection order for the first round is as follows. The Washington Redskins and Indianapolis Colts traded their first round selections, and will make their first selection in the second round (34th and 59th overall, respectively). The selection order for subsequent rounds will follow the order of the first round, except that teams with the same record and same playoff result will rotate among their respective groups (these groups are indicated by the bold gray lines in the table below). Also, 32 additional supplemental picks will be allocated between the ends of round 3 through 7, for a total of 256 picks. See the rules for determining draft order for more details.

  • not tied Carolina lost in the Divisional round, while New England and San Francisco lost in the Conference Championship Games. So, Carolina will pick #28 in every round, while New England and San Francisco will cycle picks.

In the explanations below, (D) denotes trades that took place during the 2014 Draft, while (PD) indicates trades completed pre-draft.

Round one

  • 2nd Pick: Washington → St. Louis (PD). Washington traded this selection along with its first-round selection (6th overall) in 2012, its second-round selection in 2012 and its first round selection in 2013 (22nd overall) in exchange for St. Louis' first-round selection (2nd overall) in 2012.
  • 26th Pick: Indianapolis → Cleveland (PD). Indianapolis traded this selection to Cleveland in exchange for running back Trent Richardson on September 18, 2013.

Round two

  • 24th Pick (56th overall): Kansas City → San Francisco (PD). Kansas City traded a conditional 2014 third-round selection along with a 2013 second-round selection to San Francisco in exchange for quarterback Alex Smith; the selection was later upgraded to a second-rounder after a condition was met in which Kansas City won a minimum of eight games during the 2013 season.

Round three

  • 13th Pick (77th overall): Tennessee → San Francisco (PD). Tennessee traded its third-round selection, along with its 2013 second- and seventh-round selections to San Francisco in exchange for San Francisco's 2013 second-round selection.
