The NGW TakeOver show will feature professional wrestling matches involving different wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds and storylines that play out on the NGW television program prior to the TakeOver show itself. Wrestlers portray faces (the "heroes") or heels (the "villains") as they follow a series of events that built tension and culminated in a match or a series of matches.
Max McAlmond Tag Team Classic
On the September 28 episode of NGW, Mary McAlmond announced the second annual Max McAlmond Tag Team Classic would take place over the following several weeks, culminating with the finals at NGW TakeOver: Welcome to Hell. The tournament started on the October 8, 2016 episode of NGW.
