At NGW Takeover: Our Revolution, Gomez defeated Elijah Eason to win the NGW Championship, after the match he was congradulated by the NGW roster, except for his former partner Cory Ward, during the celebration, however, Gomez was attacked and put through both announcers table by Kevin Hunter, who had just returned to the company earlier that evening.
