History
Following the reintroduction of the WIW brand extension and subsequent draft on July 19, 2016, WIW Women's Champion Kaila Matteson was drafted to Rage, the title was renamed the WIW World Women's Championship, leaving ShowDown without a women's championship. Immediately following SummerBash on the August 26, 2016 episode of ShowDown, Turf Finnegan and ShowDown commissioner Dixie Finnegan unveiled the new WIW Women's Championship and announced that the inaugural champion will be determined at Aftershock in a Six-pack challenge, the partcipates will be decided in fatal four way matches in the next two weeks, on the August 26, 2016 episode of ShowDown, the first four way match saw Katie Mansfield defeated Jamie Carroll, Megan Zanto and Hannah Weiner, the second saw Beatrice LaGreca defeated Kristen Erickson, Riley Austin and Kelsey Wagner, the third saw Carolyn Kuser defeated Nicole Bergman, Leigh Hicks and Stephanie Claassen and the final fatal four way match saw Brittany Hiatt defeated Megan Zanto, Melissa Warren and Katelyn Whitehead. On the September 2, 2016 episode of ShowDown, Kayty Kapphan defeated Hannah Weinert, Anna Williams and Brooke Slevin, as on the same night Allison Richards defeated Somer Cummings, Kesley Dayton and Maggie King in the final two fatal four way matches.
