AEW 1: Rock vs. Punk is a professional wrestling pay-per-view produced by AEW that will take place on January 25, 2014 at the MGM Grand in Paradise, Nevada. It will be the first AEW pay-per-view to be broadcasted on Saturday instead of Sunday, and is rumored to be a UFC type pay-per-view, no word on what that means.

AEW 1: Rock vs. Punk will feature professional wrestling matches involving different wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds, plots, and storylines that develop on AEW's television programs. Wrestlers portrayed villains or heroes as they follow a series of events that build tension and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches.
The main rivalry for the pay-per-view is over the World Heavyweight Championship with champion CM Punk defending the World Heavyweight Championship against The Rock. At the end of 2013 the Rock debuted a new faction known as The Tribe (Samoa Joe, Roman Reigns and The Usos) the faction debuted at last months Redemption when they attacked The Shield's Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins and the The Saints (AEW Champion CM Punk and Colt Cabana. On December 28, 2013 at the Citi Field Press Conference Room the founder and owner of AEW Shane McMahon announced that CM Punk would defend the World Heavyweight Championship against The Rock at the pay-per-view.
Another match that was announced for the pay-per-view was announced on the January 20 episode of Concussion will pit Samoa Joe against Colt Cabana (who along with CM Punk have been feuding with The Tribe) Shane McMahon would than announced that the match would be contested in a Submissions Count Anywhere match. Another match announced on the January 20 episode of Concussion will be former Shield partners Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns in a singles competition.
