[edit] Production

[edit] Background

Hellbound is a gimmick event produced annually by WIW since 2009. The concept of the show comes from the promotion's established Hell in a Cell match, in which competitors fight inside a 20-foot-high roofed cell structure surrounding the ring and ringside area. The main event match of the card is contested under the Hell in a Cell stipulation. The 2022 event will be the 14th event under the Hell in a Cell chronology and will feature wrestlers from the Raw and ShowDown brands. With the exception of the September 2018 event, Hell in a Cell had been held in October. The 2021 event, however, moved the event series up to June, with the 2022 event scheduled for June 5 at the CapState Arena in Helena, Montana. It will air on pay-per-view (PPV) worldwide and the WIW Network

[edit] Storylines

The show will include matches that result from scripted storylines, where wrestlers portray heroes, villains, or less distinguishable characters in scripted events that build tension and culminate in a wrestling match or series of matches. Results are predetermined by WIW's writers on the Rage and ShowDown brands, while storylines are produced on WIW's weekly television shows, Wednesday Night Rage and Saturday Night ShowDown.
