The card will include matches resulting from scripted storylines and have results predetermined by WIW on the Rage brand , one of WIW's two brand divisions. Storylines are produced on WIW's weekly television show Rage.

At Soul Survivor, after an accidental superkick from WIW World Champion Kevin McAlmond, WIW Heavyweight Champion Mark Semmler eliminated WIW International Champion Dustin Simpson. The following Wednesday on Rage, Simpson confronted McAlmond about the situation and told him that he blamed him for his elimination, the two began to brawl through the arena until being separated by security a match was scheduled between McAlmond and Simpson at Winter Warzone. Later that evening, Dustin and Jesse defeated McAlmond and Matt Borske after the later walked out, Rex Martin then revealed that since Simpson had pinned McAlmond the WIW World Championship would be defended at the event.

The following week, after Matt Borske walked out on Kevin McAlmond, Kooper McAlmond confronted Borske about the situation and a brawl ensued between the two. On the December 7 episode of Rage, during an interview with Kooper McAlmond, Matt Borske and The Authority of Wrestling attacked Kooper until Kevin McAlmond made the save a match was made for later in the eventing, which saw Kevin and Kooper McAlmond defeated Matt Borske and Josh Erickson with Kooper pinning Josh Erickson. It was announced later that evening that Kooper McAlmond would face Matt Borske in singles competition at the event.

On the November 30 episode of Rage, Sari Pasma defeated Kaila Matteson to win the WIW World Women's Championship in a Falls Count Anywhere match. The following week, Pasma knew Matteson was going to want her rematch for title and suggested a 30–minute Steel Cage Iron Man match at Winter Warzone, which Matteson accepted. Later that night, during an in ring segment between the two Matteson cheap shotted Matteson and was overpowered by Matteson as she laid Pasma out with her finishing move.
