Announced by [[The Sports Arena (Butte, Montana)|The Sports Arena]] on November 5, 2016, the main event of Winter Warzone will be a champion versus champion match: [[WIW International Championship|International Champion]] [[Dustin Simpson (WIW)|Dustin Simpson]] will face [[WIW World Championship|WIW World Champion]] [[Kevin McAlmond (WIW)|Kevin McAlmond]] for the WIW World Championship. At [[WIW Soul Survivor (2016)|Soul Survivor]], McAlmond accidentally hit Simpson while attempting to hit Lynch, causing Simpson to be eliminated from the match.
