The 2014 Minnesota Vikings season is the franchise's 54th season in the National Football League and the first under new head coach Mike Zimmer. It also marks the first of likely two seasons in which the Vikings will play their home games at the University of Minnesota's on-campus TCF Bank Stadium, while construction of the new Vikings Stadium, slated to open in 2016, takes place on the site of the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. The Vikings will be looking to improve on last season's 5–10–1 record, which saw them go through a quarterback carousel and one of the worst defenses in the league that year, and arguably in Vikings' history.
