Following two years after the hugely popular release of Pornographie Pour Les Oreilles, Tek War marks a return to the abrasiveness of the early !ng releases. Finally breaking the 10-minute mark that represented was an ever-present criticism of their previous three albums, Tek War shows a clear influence of drone rock and krautrock. For the first time, the !ng created their record entirely with one keyboard and a microphone. This live environment allowed the !ng to have real-time manipulation of their songs in one take, resulting in songs that change in tempo and pitch naturally, compared to the almost-clinical processing of their other work.
