The Switch

Bellamy Alexandre Florentin (Bell-Ahm-Mee, Aleck-zan-druh, Floor-ehn-tahn) had previously been destined to attend the French Wizarding School of Beauxbatons, but due to job opportunities dealing with his parents, he began to attend Hogwarts, and was quite perfectly sorted into the Hufflepuff house. His strong passion for becoming a Beater for the Quidditch Team was noticed and thereafter nurtured by the Hufflepuff Captain, Adalia Baden, who gave him a spot on the team.

Wand

Bellamy's chosen wand is made of Alder Ash, with a core of Runespoor Fang (noted for its strength in casting Dark Spells) and it about 12 inches long. As far as classes go, Bellamy is certainly not the top of any of them, but the kid certainly does try, and his determined outset about learning usually gets him acceptable grades. The highest grades he obtains come usually from Defense Against the Dark Arts; This subject fascinates him enormously, even if being one of the more damage-susceptible students in the class tends to leave him with some nasty bruises and burns.

Friends

Bellamy(or, "Bel" as oftentimes called by acquaintances and close friends)is known around school despite his rather unassuming appearance, as quite the flirt. This simply means he's enraptured by the female race, and has made a hobby of ogling girls no matter what House they belong to. In almost every circumstance, though, his ploys toward girls usually fail, for all of them seem to think of him as 'just a cute, nerdy little Hufflepuff with a strange accent.' He has seemed to find some luck in the form of two best friends, though, Danica Eiler and Elizabeth Ryder. Bel had crushes on both the girls, but his fondness for them soon turned to deep friendship, and nowadays, Bel calls this troupe of close nit buds 'Les Trois Mousquetaires'(The Three Musketeers).

This Reputation also coincides with the more mischievous side of Bel at Hogwarts, and though tricks and jokes are usually on his agenda, he has been known to pull a prank or to. His detentions only about to 1 at the moment, but, now that he's found himself a good friend in the 7th year Gryffindor Sydney Morris many more may be soon to follow.

Description

Personality

Ambition is a chief asset that the Hufflepuff House seeks in the freshly plucked minds of new students, and when the Sorting Hat was placed on dear Bellamy Florentin’s head, it was positively ruffled by the trait that quaked from the child’s every limb. Whether it be for his only recently fostered knack of Quidditch, or a few chance attendances in Potions study groups, Bellamy strives to do his absolute best--- even if his best can only go so far.

Maturity is a …lets say, ‘frivolous’ accomplishment, at best, for Bellamy. Though he is a punctual and compassionate person, quirky comments flow from his heart-shaped mouth by the truckload. Bellamy is also rather fond of his French descent, and takes every chance he can to talk in French, even if its just a short phrase or, when classes get too hectic, a ‘course word, au française’ will settle his nerves.

The Hufflepuff House is known for its crude indication of being, “the set of dull crayons in the box.’ Bellamy isn’t rather a sharp one, by no means, but with a forcibly strong determination does he survive through all his classes. Even some of his best work only amounts to E’s, or A’s though he’s never had anything less than an ‘Outstanding’ in Defense Against the Dark Arts. Physical limitations aside, Bellamy bounds through D.A.D.A class with passion and wired excitement, always ignoring the burns, cuts and nasty bites that may be entailed in the course description.

Drawn out details and intricate shades cannot possibly paint the rather delicate state that Bellamy is in. One who pays careful attention to his quirks, his cute, but rare smiles, could tell you that he is a rather normal looking boy, healthy and unpretentious. He doesn’t seem any older than he looks, nor younger, for at height of 5’2” , he precisely where he needs to be. Bellamy is slender, and no matter what athletic ventures he attempts muscle seldom surfaces upon his willowy frame. This does give him energy by the bundles, however. These bursts of energy usually end with him scattered across the ground, battered and bruised, which is why his pale skin is covered in a collection of colorless scars, pink scrapes, and purpling bruises.

Stylishly cropped, pale yellow hair scatters across his head, one thick crescent-like wave of the shaggy stuff enclosing around one of his eyes. His eyes are instilled with that childish sort of amusement, the kind that slowly fades away with age; but the mischief appears relatively strong with him still, hiding under pastel eyelashes and the stormy blue grey of his irises. A pink, quirky little thing of a mouth is usually scrunched up in determination under a pudgy nose, of which is splattered by sets of caramel freckles.

Aside from what he likes to describe as his ‘bourdon’(bumblebee) scarves, ties and general Hufflepuff attire, Bellamy is very picky and tasteful when it comes to clothes. He can be seen donning anything from modish, skin-tight tees with matching stressed jeans, or when pattering through the wintry streets in Hogsmeade, those silvery blue eyes are nestled behind a chic, pastel scarf.

History

Origins

Bellamy Alexandre Florentin was born with much anticipation to a Mrs. Adélie Florentin and her sickly little twig of a husband, Mr. Ruiseart Florentin on the 21th of March. The couple nurtured their little boy in Tours, France, always spoiling him with candies and clothes and anything the fresh lovebirds could get their hands on. Adélie was a gorgeous woman, and hardly anyone in her family could believe she had settled down with such a lanky, subservient man, but the two let their romance dwindle when it came to their child, always putting him at the forefront of their lives.

At the age of three, Mr.Florentin (who was a passionate Herbologist) began to show off a few magic tricks to his son, who would simply dribble and gawk with those wild sets of eyes as birds blossomed in puffs of white from his father’s dirtied hands. His mother held the more enigmatic attributes, but she was only a muggle, one that was still fascinated by her frumpy husband’s knack in magical arts. Even Adélie had insisted upon home schooling Bellamy until he was of age to attend France’s prestigious school of Magic, Beauxbatons, which he would have if not for a few job openings that eventually forced the small family to move to England.

Younger Years

The kid Bellamy grew into had a knack of beating himself up, the Floretins observed. After a day of searching endlessly in their backyard and the adjoining streets for her ‘petit chéri’, Adélie opened the door of their home to find little Bellamy standing there, arms folded, blood spurting from his elbows and knees with a look of indignation scrunched on his face. In that sputtering French drawl, the kid growled something about not being able to keep up with a frog he had been chasing, and with dramatic zeal, he exclaimed to her, “I weel catch zat drasted toadey, zat, you can bet mama!

…And, after consistent occurrences such as this, Mr. And Mrs. Florentin could never have been awaiting the day when Bellamy left for Hogwarts more.

  • You name the girl, Bel has a crush on them.
  • Bellamy has a pet Scop's owl by the name of Célie, and he's shamelessly devoted to taking care of her.
  • Bellamy's patronus is the form of a Grindylow-- the pale green, sea-dwelling monsters with gnarled horns, glistening scales and sharp, curved claws.
  • One of his worst scars comes in the form of a nasty bite from a lycanthropized venus fly trap in his father's greenhouse--thankfully, this did not result in him turning green, or wolfy, upon the full moon.
