The Seðev are a Coscivian ethnic group native to Northern Coscivia. They speak their own Coscivian language, and have a culture closely related to, though noticeably distinct from the neighbouring Norskev, Svenskev, and Scädev groups, though they never had an independent ethnic homeland or province.
This lack of a homeland caused Seðev to be reduced to Metics in the pre-Imperial republics of Northern Coscivia. As a result, they were taxed more heavily than other subjects, and rarely ventured out of their own crofts.
Under the Coscivian Empire, Seðev persons recieved full citizenship, and thrived as farmers, merchants and fishermen. Seðev and Norskev trade cooperatives were prosperous.
Keður Valëkas, a Seðev mariner, was responsible for the discovery of New Coscivia, and thus for the creation of Kirav. The Coscivian Empire thanked Valëkas by granting the Seðev a generous tract of homeland in what is now Kirverda.
