History
The history of the aristocratic Holt family is one of decline from a neat, upkept militaristic family to a family still generally neat and structured, but splintered and divided. In the time of Count Acubierre Holt, there were deep contentions between and outright hatred of the Von Paulus Family, who believed that the Holt Family should not have been held in such high position in the Takaran Imperial Court, as they were not even Takaran in origin. However, overtime, there was an easing of tensions as galactic empire building began to become widespread. From then onwards, descendents of the Holt and Von Paulus families released tensions from each other, mostly due to the fact that Acubierre's son Darian was more interested in strengthening the family's position within the growing Takaran galactic class military force rather than carry on old family political skirmishes. After him, all hatred of the Von Paulus family collapsed rather quickly. This "collapse" was ultimately proved by the marriage of Vera Holt and Lord Reskin Icarus von Paulus.
While usually very honor held and traditionally aristocratic in manner, the Holt family is not without its unwanted brands. Unfortunately, the two most generally unliked members of the family are also in line for the title of Count. Marcus Holt discarded the title completely, and was viewed as a radical, completely dropping off the radar for some time. When he returned to the public eye, he came with a 5 year old son Zeth, and a newborn son named Vincent, by an unknown mother. These boys were raised by their aunt, Vera Paulus. Vincent is now looked upon as a continuance of his father, a traveling mercenary with no credibility or accomplishments. He is generally scorned by the rest of the family. Zeth on the other hand, is viewed as one of the most successful members of the family since his great grandfather Count Darian Helms Holt, and has laid claim to the title of Count. He has disowned his dead father.
