Freikorps 11th Armoured Cavalry

The first division of the Freikorps Marines to be equipped with Seraphim suits, the 11th is arguably the best fighting force in the entire corps. It boasts an undefeated combat record throughout it's two century long history and has both the reputation and the seniority to request only the best in troops and equipment. The unit has produced some of the greatest soldiers of the modern age, including Kiyomi McInnes, Kethro Wasim and Arthur Hawkins. The 11th characteristically paint their armour completely blood red, using their fearsome appearance and even more fearsome penchant for unrelenting and unstoppable force to break down an enemy line. The 11th's current CO is Colonel-General Chaz Natlo.

History of the 11th Division

The 11th was originally a Drop Trooper Division at the time of it's founding in the late 2050s. It was an amalglamation of the broken fragments of the United States Marine Corps, bolstered by the remnants of the Artisans' Rifles of the British Special Air Service. The 11th quickly gained a reputation for using unconventually direct tactics for a drop trooper unit. After the Battle of Vigilance Bridge in 2198, the Alliance Board of the Admiralty finally bit the bullet and made the 11th a heavy division. As one of the most senior units in the Terran Alliance Marines, the 11th was handpicked as the marine contingent for Duke Milgar Strathcona during his many campaigns against the various enemies of the alliance. Following the Duke's asassination, the 11th was assigned to Terra as a guards unit, and then finally selected to become the the first Seraphim unit.
