Ananta is the first planet of the system, and rather far from Shiva. It's distance is something in the realm of the distance between the Sun and Venus. The planet is tropical, and besieged by nearly global and constant rains. Ananta has two main continents and several smaller islands. Both continents are mountainous, and the inner portions of the land are barren wastelands that rarely see even a fraction of the torrential downpours that afflict the rest of the planet nearly year-round. The desert is home to very little life, mainly a very long lived species of plant similar to the cactus. The life in the rainforest is as diverse as you would expect, with primate-like life, to snakes, fish, and birds. The atmosphere is perfectly breathable. Minerals abound in stripe-like deposits, as the planet was partially made from the remains of the dead star. A moon by the name of Soma orbits Ananta.

Notable Places

Ananta City - A river aptly named Ganges ran throughout the Eastern continent on Ananta, dividing it from the mountains in the south. On the Eastern banks of the river, a city of prominence rose up. Ananta City was the capital of the Brahman system thriving, rising to power after not existing for six years. Among alien flora and fauna humanity erected a metropolis using massive machinery and prefabricated buildings and designs. A wonder of the modern age.

Shesha City - To the Western banks a different city arose, one of pleasure and pain. It started as part of Ananta City but soon it was renamed Shesha city, and designated an industrial and low-income housing zone. While no trains operated on Ananta currently, the river was literally the wrong side of the tracks.

On November 11, AC 269 AWARE soldier Kjinnis Mono was abducted in city, causing a sortie between AWARE forces and the Sixth Army, in which AWARE was forced to retreat against the guerillas.

Meaning of the Name

Ananta is a Sanskrit word meaning "without end," or the "the infinite one". Ananta is a commonly used name for Shesha (or 'Ananta Shesha'), an incarnation of Vishnu from Hindu tradition, in the form of a large, divine serpent with many thousands of heads
