Meaning of the Name
Shiva is a form of God in the later Vedic scriptures of Hinduism. Shiva is the supreme God in Shaivism, one of the major branches of Hinduism practiced in India. He is the formless, timeless and spaceless Supreme God in Shaivism. The name Shiva means "One who purifies everyone by the utterance of His name" or the Pure One, the Holiest of Holy names.
