The first major government versus government battle on GWN, The Battle of the Dark Graveyard engaged PC with PC. The battle also introduced the Gemini Foundation to the board as a legitimate threat. This battle marks the begin of the Gemini Wars, a pair of conflicts focused in the Sargasso Sea and in the Outersystem.

Prelude

The Battle originated from increased tensions between the Earth First Federation and Martian Confederation. The two never had a stable relationship, especially during the short-lived Four-Leaves Peace Alliance Treaty, and both percieved weakness after the successful assault on the Bolt. The Gemini Foundation's program of kidnapping Mobile Suit pilots became the catalyst to this conflict. Alexander Whitewolf called a war council, and decided to invade the Earth on 14 July, AC 260.
