The Story
In another time, in another world there is a civilization. The Xerophins. The Xerophins are a moderately technologically advanced human species. They have developed interstellar travel by means of space ships and have begun exploring other worlds. One day while exploring a planet believed to be referenced in ancient text as Earth. The significance of this planet or why it is the only planet other than their own mentioned in the ancient text is unknown. Some believed that it was the Xerophins home world many millenia ago. But then why was it that the Xerophins did not possess great technologies. How could they have come from another planet if they had not invented crafts capable of travelling in space until a few decades ago. The math clearly just does not add up.
During the exploration of the planet Earth there was no signs of life. Eliminating any chance of finding a civilization there that may have offered some answers to the vague history of the Xerophins. The planet was covered with luscious plant life but it was still evident that a great civilization and great war had once plagued the planet long ago. Massive craters and slightly exposed damaged structures sprouted from the planets surface.
After weeks of traversing the planets wilderness one of the research teams finally stumbled across something. A hall with strange text. Inside was empty other than the odd text scrawled on the walls and floor. However after a few days spent in this would be tomb of foreign intellect something else was discovered. An object, conceilled in the back wall. After extensive tampering with the device a bright light is emitted for a brief moment and the scientist touching (Dr. Peters) the object is thrown back. After brushing himself off they noticed the weird device was now glowing with a soft light. At first glances it is believed to be some form of power source. The device is packed up into crates and shipped back to the Xerophins home world for further studies.
During Dr. Peters studies of the object he realises the object is not a power source at all, but rather a database full of information on varies advanced technologies. It is now believed that the device was a final attempt by the people of Earth to save their technologies for any future species to find the device. Over time the great Dr. Peters behaviour slowly began to change. It started as late night work on unlocking the devices secrets, which would not appear strange if it wasnt for the isolation from everyone else he would study in and then not being able to recall or talk about his late night work. But gradually this obsession like behaviour leaked into his everyday character. He now treated his coworkers different, more as lowly civil workers rather than the great scientists they were, all the meanwhile muttering strange things like "Asleep for so long... Pieces at a time... taking time to 'wake up'...". However Dr. Peters was beginning to make great progress in his unlocking of the devices database and the government accepted this odd obsession of his as it was proving to be most beneficial. Dr. Peters and his gang of scientists had managed to develop several technologies from their discoveries which proved quite advantagous to the nations military side of business.
Soon the government began to implement the technology into their military to aid in their conflicts against other Xerophin nations. However as time went on and the wars began to come to a halt as peace was nearing Dr. Peters began to whisper into the ear of the President, urging him to embrace the power which their nation now possessed and to conquer the other nations and force them into doing his bidding. Tempted but not conviced the President wised up to the Doctors whispers and saw him for what he was, a manipulator. The President scolded Dr. Peters and ordered him into retirement. A small token to the greatness the doctor had provided yet still a punishment.
This is when it happened. The great Dr. Peters snapped. Ashriel was contempt on reigning from the shadows, letting his influence on those with the power to manifest his bidding while allowing his involvement to remain hidden to all. But now it was time for him to take charge.
The device found on Earth had been a vessel for the massive database housing technology of its creators, however this is not all that it housed. An acient consciousness waited dormently. Waiting for someone to come along and rewaken the device, allowing the consciousness to be downloaded into the mind of its saviour. This conciousness was that of Ashriel. The odd behaviour from Dr. Peters was nothing other than Ashriel slowly waking and taking over the body of the good Doctor. But now the waking process had been complete for sometime and it appeared Dr. Peters influence meant nothing anymore.
Ashriel turned his army of robots he had created on to the leaders of the government, the robots now would do his bidding without question as he was their creator. After all this is how he had programmed them. Soon he began his new war, enslaving all who opposed him. Ruling with an Iron Fist. After all, Ashriel is a power hungry alien consciousness that is only satisfied when he alone has total control.

A scientist/medical officer offers to save him by utilising some of the technology the other scientists had developed thanks to the alien object discovered on Earth. Thus creating the cyborg. The soldier continues fighting the wars his government sends him to. Over time his scientist saviour offers him upgrades as new technology is developed. Week by week the new robot army is implemented into the military ranks more and more. At the time this was thought of as a good thing. Soon operations began to become more and more obscure and one day the good scientist tells the cyborg soldier how he fears Dr. Peters has become corrupted and is using the robotic army he had created to wage his own wars. The seeds of doubt have been planted. The soldier goes AWOL with the good scientist and not long after the is a full rebelious army fighting along side them. Fighting the Iron Fist of Ashriel. By now however Ashriel has dominated many, and there are but few free rebels. The battle between the free and the enslaved has begun.
