Messed up pause screen

From the game Donkey Kong 64 for the Nintendo 64.

As anybody, play your instrument. As the camera cuts back to you after playing the music, press start as quickly as you can (the DK symbol should be still there). You will see that all the symbols for the items and characters are missing, and that only the numbers and letters are there.
