Say something about the last poster! was created on 8 November, 2004. Like many of the games on Mayhem, its title succinctly describes its entire ruleset. It inspired a number of 'copycat' threads, such as 'Say something about the NEXT poster!', 'Say Something About Everybody' ('Everybody' in this case being the next and last posters, and onesself), and 'Say something about yourself'.

'Say something about the last poster!' and its family are often used as conversation threads. Posts are often constructed to imply something about the current poster, by saying this is not true of the last poster.
