Basic Jobs

From Dynasts End

Basic jobs are available to people of all skill levels. An archer could be a hopeless novice or an unparalleled hunter. The only thing that separates the two are talent, will, some chance and a lot of practice.

All Job descriptions come with a link to one of the Ivalice video games' official skill trees. This is just for your own personal reference about the capabilities of the Job and not something you must follow to a T.

[edit] Summoner

Summoners are generally known to have some of the lowest physical stats in the game and the highest magical stats. Their weapon arsenal varies, but most choose to wield rods, staffs, daggers, and sometimes whips. Summoners use special magick that allows them to call forth an Esper. Summoners also have the ability to cast either basic Black or White Magick as well.

To become a Summoner, one must journey to the shrine of an Esper and hold a vigil in its name. Should the Esper find a Summoner worthy, they will give them their glyph and become their life-long servant. At this time, the Summoner will sprout a single horn as evidence of their power. An Esper may only be in the employ of one Summoner at a time, and a Summoner may only ever summon one Esper.

Example occupations include religious figure and mercenary.

[edit] Thief

Most often, their primary weapon is a Dagger, but some Thieves have been known to equip short swords or boomerangs. Their armor options are limited to lightweight armor and vests. The most prominent ability of a Thief is to steal items and money from their opponents.

Example occupations include hustler, thief and whores.

Skill Tree

[edit] White Mage

Their equipment includes staves, rods and maces. Their armor, like most mages, is limited to lightweight vests and mage robes. Their physical stats are usually higher than those of a Black Mage (because they cannot defend themselves), but are not as high as most other classes. Their magical stats, of course, are high.

The most prominent ability of a White Mage is to cast White Magick, which usually includes healing and support magick, but may also include status spells.

White Mages' traditional dress is white robes with red triangular lining. Male White Mages generally do not wear hoods; however, female ones do.

Example occupations include healer, doctor, midwife and acolyte of Kiltias.
