Book of Silver and Jade
From Demiurge Games
The Book of Silver and Jade is a powerful relic crafted originally by Grandfather Lei and Grandmother Fung back in the period before recorded history. Two pieces of jade serve as the book's cover, carved with the celestial guardians at their respective cardinal directions on the design. Thin pages of silver fill the book, with large silver rings serving as the book's binding. Each filled page within the book is embossed with the picture of the spirit trapped within it, their names written out beneath it in antiquated Chinese script. Each page serves as a small pocket dimension where the prisoner is held alone. Hao Wei is the current possessor of the book, during which the spirits escaped. Anjora, Shadow's Embracing Chill, Yushan Tien, Celestial Dragon of the Court of Storms, and Renxli, the Soul Scourge were the three initially trapped by the ancients, and the book was sequestered by the Wei family. Hidden and eventually smuggled out of China before the fall of the Koumintang, the book was brought to the Americas where the family cult was able to protect it and fashion the entire Wei Society and the surrounding ley lines towards keeping the book sealed. After the release of the initial spirits, Hao's ancestors fell before the wrath of their progenitor as Grandfather Lei and Grandmother Fung learned of their use of the book. All the spirits were humbled for their laziness, the book was meant to be used, their duty was to use it, not sequester it. The book has finally begun to be used for what it was designed for, and become a tool for the Magistrate of Heaven to effectively use.
