• 17th - Farthing Downs: 20+ redwings, 4 fieldfares, 4 siskins over heading south, 3 pied wagtail over, 1 lesser redpoll over, 1 house sparrow, 100+ feral pigeons on adjoining ploughed fields with a sprinkling of stock dove(3+?) and woodpigeon (20+), chaffinch and greenfinch, 5 bullfinch, 3 yellowhammer, 3 mipit, 2 ring necked parakeets, 15-20 jackdaws, 15 longtailed tits, 3 nuthatch, 5 treecreepers, 1 green and 1 great spotted woodpecker, 5 starling over, 1 chiffchaff, 6 skylark over, 4 songthrush and 2 mistle thrush. • 17th - Croham Hurst (07:30-08:30). Some migration taking place -12+ Redwing, 1 Fieldfare, 2 Mistle thrush. Chaffinch, Greenfinch, 2+ Meadow Pipit, 2+ Linnet, Brambling and Siskin all heard passing over. Well over 100 Feral Pigeons flew west over the Hurst, but more in the distance. 4 Stock Doves, Jackdaws, steady stream of Black-headed, Common and Herring Gulls. 1 Peregrine towards Riddlesdown. Then another 25+ Redwings over Arkwright Road and 25+ Redwings and 2 Siskins over Briton Hill Road. (JB)

• 11th - Selsdon: Osprey south mid-a.m. (from London Birders - Roy Weller per David Campbell). Incredibly this is the third Croydon record of Osprey this autumn.
