  • 27th - 10 Waxwings in garden in Windermere Road, Coulsdon. Stayed for approx three weeks, roosting in poplars. Fed on cotoneaster in church yard. (per John Birkett)

  • 19th - Tawny Owl heard near Lower Barn Road. (per JB)
  • 19th - Park Hill Rec. Firecrest (heard), 2 Nuthatches, 4 Redwing, Song Thrush, Mistle Thrush, Ring-necked Parakeet and Grey Heron (over), Green Woodpecker, Great Spotted Woodpecker (Alan Pearson and Jonathan East)
  • 17th - South Norwood CP (dusk onwards). Blackbird, Song Thrush, Robin all singing on arrival. Tawny Owl watched perched in a bush for several minutes before it flew off. 4 Shovelers (3m & 1f) plus dozens of Canada Geese on lake. (John Birkett)

  • 14th - Purley Beeches. One Firecrest. Mixed flock of c20 Lesser Redpolls and c10 Siskins feeding mainly in larches. Also 4 Goldcrests, 6 Redwings, 2 Stock Doves, 2 Nuthatches, Great Spotted Woodpecker drumming, 2 Coal Tits. (John Birkett)

  • 11th - Park Hill Rec. No sign of the Firecrests, but several Goldcrests, 1 Nuthatch, 5 Redwings, 2 Stock Doves (one 'singing'), 1 Siskin, 1 Great Spotted Woodpecker drumming, 40+ Carrion Crows and a Jackdaw flew over. (John Birkett)

  • 7th - Sanderstead. Approx 20 each Redwings and Fieldfares on Sanderstead Rec. Pair of Great Spotted Woodpeckers chasing around noisily in Sanderstead Cemetery. 6 Moorhens and a pair of Canada Geese on Sanderstead Pond. Lesser Redpoll over Briton Hill Road, with Great Spotted Woodpecker drumming nearby and one House Sparrow calling - first in the area for a few years!!! (John Birkett)

  • 5th - Markfield - Lesser Redpoll nibbling buds on Spindle bush (Ted Forsyth)
  • 4th - Biggin Wood (15:00 hrs) - Sparrowhawk, 2 pairs of Goldcrests, 2 pairs of GS Woodpeckers (1 drumming),Green Woodpecker, Great, Blue , Coal & Long Tailed Tits, c20 Ring Necked Parakeets, c60 Wood Pigeons (this is a favoured roostings site for this species and Carrion Crows).(Linda & Terry Osborn)
