  • 28th - Approx 30 Swifts circling & screeching over our house in Virginia Road (Terry Osborn)

  • 28th - Sanderstead: male Sparrowhawk hunting over Briton Hill Road at 18.20. (JB)
  • 27th - Sanderstead (Briton Hill Road): tit flock including approx 50 Long-tailed Tits in garden. (JB)
  • 27th - Pittville Gardens, SE25 (8am): Common Whitethroat singing along railway embankment adjacent to back garden (Gavin Hawgood)

  • 21st - Croft Rd, Norbury: Buzzard flying over approx 10.10am (SEC)
  • 21st - Farthing Downs/Happy Valley: Nuthatch, treecreeper, great spotted and green woodpecker, chiffchaff, blackcap with young, lesser whitethroat, whitethroat (at least two sites, one with young,),chaffinch, greefinch, linnet with young, yellowhammer, swifts and herring gull overhead, song thrush with young, mistle thrush, large flock of jackdaws, jay, abundant juv starlings, distant buzzard, sparrowhawk, ring necked parakeets, great, blue, long tailed and coal tit, all with young, at least 5 separate bullfinch, one with young, collared and stock dove, wren, goldcrest, robin, blackbird, dunnock, woodpigeon, carrion crow, magpie, skylark, no sign of spotted flycatcher or house martin this year, (David Hayes)

  • 15th - Selhurst Triangle: unexpected sighting of a Green Woodpecker flying over tracks towards a stand of trees. (JB)

  • 13th - Sanderstead Pond: Adult Yellow-legged Gull (apparently taking an interest in young Mallards and Moorhens) at 16:00 (JB)

  • 12th - Coombe Farm Playing Fields : 13 Mistle Thrushes feeding on the cricket pitches. (John Parish)
  • 9th - South Norwood CP: The Great Crested Grebes have at least three chicks (hatched last Sunday apparently). Kingfisher seen flying over the lake. (JB)
  • 8th - South Norwood CP: Pair of Great Crested Grebes, one with at least two chicks on back (successful breeeding here at long last). Also at least two young Kestrels. Pair Stock Doves.
  • 7th - South Norwood Lake: Mute swan, Great Crested Grebe (on nest) 8 Tufted Duck, 2 Common Swift, single House Martin, 5singing Blackcap, 2 Chiffchaff, 2 Song Thrush, 1adult + 3 juv green Woodpecker, 3 Great Spotted Woodpecker, 2 Nuthatch, 8 Long-tailed Tit, 2 Collared Dove, 5 House Sparrow, (John Watson)
