You rush out the door, to your friend Lisa's house. She lives two blocks away, and if you can make it there quickly, you know she will drive you.
Rounding the last corner to her street, you are dismayed to see her car is not in front of her house. You decide to knock on the door, maybe her car is in the shop today, and she hasn't left yet.
Nobody answers your knocks, and you turn around to start power walking to school. Better late than never.
