WAS: Go and look at the walls of Trellingblad

From Create Your Own Story

You’ve read about the walls of Trellingblad. According to legend a god donated his flesh to construct the wall; he promised the people of Ugarit that the walls would never fall to their enemy. Once that might have been plausible but now things look different. During the entire siege the front lines have always remained active. Trebuchets which hurl giant stones at the walls are manned around the clock by mercenaries who work frantically on getting the walls down. It’s an hectic scenery, soldiers runs in all directions carrying out orders. Due to the toll that the war has taken on the landscape the soldiers have to work in the uneven debris that makes up the ground. You suspect that the defenders have tried to start numerous fires around the camp which added to the devastation. Dead bodies lie on the field below the walls, telling tales of failed assaults.

The grandest sight of all through must be the giant boulders hurled at the walls. They clash causing a thunderous sound that is impossible to ignore or get used to. Occasionally the defenders will fire back with trebuchets of their own but they seem to have given up fighting back for the most part. The walls which you heard so much about are on the breaking point. Several cracks have opened up, a sign that it’s about to fall. The tall towers still stand unharmed and majestically through. They seem to stand as a pillar of hope for the defenders, false pillars indeed since they will do nothing to stop the oncoming storm.

You have seen what you came here for. It won’t be long before the final assault commences. You turn around and head back to camp.
