From Create Your Own Story

Changes in RAGE

Alright, I'm here.
Straight of the bat, I have two recommendations for your story layout-wise:
1) Layout regarding choices
Instead of titling the story's options like so:
Option 1: Shoot up the supermarket (Two opening brackets, choice, Two closing brackets)
I think it would be a lot more convenient to title them:
Option 2: Shoot up the supermarket (Two opening brackets,Name of story,-,choice,|,choice,Two closing brackets)
There is no difference in appearance between the two options when a reader views it, however the second option is much more beneficial to you in the long run.
Example:
Let's say I wanted to create a choice labeled Run for your life using option one shown above. That's fine and all, until another user wishes to also name a choice Run for your life, using the same option. When the second user goes to edit what they'd expect to be a blank page, they instead stumble upon the first user's already finished page, and they cannot use that choice!
However, the second user could avoid all this stress and hassle through the use of smart editing. Suppose the second user's story is named 'Run'. They could change Run for your life (Option 1), to Run for your life (Option 2). This allows them to use whatever choice name they like with virtually no chance of ever running into another user's already named page.
P.S: I will change all the choices your story currently has from Option 1 to Option 2. If, for whatever reason, you prefer the original layout, message me and I will change them back.
2) Layout regarding unfinished pages/choices
To provide easier accessibility, and less time scrolling through hundreds of pages, I recommend that we create a new Category named Unfinished pages for RAGE, and place any red linked pages into it. This will ensure that we don't waste time endlessly searching for unfinished pages to edit, we can instantly access them via the newly created category. We should also put Astrids (*) beside the choices, to prevent any one reading it from constantly becoming frustrated when they unknowingly stumble onto empty pages.
P.S: Unlike the last recommendation, I am asking permission to implement this feature. Trust me when I say, this will make our job of finishing the story a lot less stressful. Message me your response A.S.A.P.
Thank you for your time, and as soon as we have these two problems cleared up, we can begin brainstorming.
All the best,
Adam02oc

Adam,
I already messenged you about that, but for future reference, I agree with the asterisk thing and think that writing the links like you said should only be done for locations and if necessary.

Also, there will be an addition to the template: it now has a score. Here is what to include:

{{RAGEtemplate|where=[[RAGE/location|location]]|score=score}}

Here's an equation to figure out the score:

Amount of money caused in damages + Amount of money stolen + (People killed ×10).

For example, let's say you:

Caused $3,000 in damages
Stole $250
Killed 5 people

This would mean you have to solve 3,000 + 250 + 50 to get the score. In this case, it is a score of 3,300. --Magikarp7297 22:54, 17 September 2018 (UTC)

RAGE's Backstory

I'm open for suggestions. But, here's what I have so far:

The people in the mansion are the landlords. After living in your house for 6 years, they have raised the rent too high for you to pay. It's also on your mother's death date, which is also your birthday (she died in childbirth). Every year for the past 6 years, you remember how your father abused you for 18 years and how he would have you be homeschooled. Whenever you did something wrong, he would punch you in the jaw, beat you with a stick, or slap you. After you ran away at 18, you bought your house with some help. Now, you are so enraged, you want to kill - and destroy - everything.

If anyone has anything to add, feel free to do so. I'll select what I think will be best for the main backstory, but we can also perhaps have a couple of alternative memories, as long as they don't vastly disagree with the main story. --Magikarp7297 22:54, 17 September 2018 (UTC)
