Spend some time with Katie

From Create Your Own Story

"I think I'll see what Katie is doing," you finally decide after talking with your wife for a bit longer. You finish your beer, tossing it into the recycling.

"Maybe you can coax her out of her room," your wife adds as you leave, "Because she won't listen to me." You climb the stairs to the second floor of your three floor mansion (not counting the attic and basement). You find Katie where you expected to, in her room at her computer.

Katie's room was full of gaming and nerdy stuff. An Alan Turing poster sat next to an Overwatch poster. She had an Xbox and a PS4, along with a very expensive computer. Her shelves were full of books and gaming memorabilia.

Your daughter herself was watching a Twitch stream when you walked in. You knew all these terms because, contrary to what your daughter believed, you did actual listen when she rambled at the dinner table. When she saw you came in the surprise on her face was clear.

"Dad," she stammered, taking her headphones off, "I didn't know you were home." Despite her glasses and lack of cleavage, Katie was very pretty. Her face was blemish free and her teeth were perfect. Somehow she stayed in great shape, considering how much snack food she eats.

"Hey honey," you greet, sitting down on her bed, "I got off work early and thought I'd say hello. We haven't spent much time together recently and I just wanted to see how you were doing."

The mention of your job brought her out of her surprise. She frowned, her soft eyes turning into daggers. "Oh I know, supporting a racist must be so time consuming."

"Look, Katie, I-" You begin, but are interrupted when she stands up. You subconsciously realize she's only wearing panties, but right now that's not high on your priority list.

"How could you help someone who pays women A FOURTH of what he pays men. Hell, he only values them based on their beauty. And that's not even mentioning the fact that he started a war because he wasn't man enough to admit he lost."

"Katie, Hillary was the one who declared war," you respond, though you know it's hopeless.

"Trump forced her hand by SECEDING! Now he passes racist laws so bad they might as well be human rights violations and you stand by his side, acting like everything is okay. How can you live with yourself!"

Your daughter is obviously venting some pent up anger she's had. You've never seen her so much as raise her voice let alone scold you. However, come to think of it, this is the first one-on-one talk you two have had since you took the job. How do you want to handle this?
