There's a quiet, nervous atmosphere in your party on the way to the border fortress, noone really seems to know what to say. You try to show them a cheerful facade but they easily see trough it. The silence doesn't help and you feel like you're being brought to your execution.
The journey continues in that manner untill you arrive at the border fortress. You do your best to seem unafected as you say a quick goodbye to your men and decide to face the music before your nerves give in. You take a look at the enemy-your escort- in the distance. 50 guards, you rate their combat skills higher than their looks (which are particularly bad), there's also a handfull of servants. The low number of servants was probably meant as an insult but you're fine even without ANY servants so that was quite pointless. You smirk at the enemy's -- ex-enemy's futile efforts to annoy you and take heart.
A few of the worst cases among the guards step forward as you approach, eyeing you as they would a whore in a bar.
