SM:Warn the Teen

From Create Your Own Story

"Hey! Girl on the cellphone! Move!" you shout, and a few people turn and look in your direction... not one of which is the girl.

"Platform B! Teenager! Look out!" you try shouting again, but it isn't enough.

The man shoves the teenager in front of the bus, and promptly takes off up the street. The driver of the bus slams on the breaks but since buses can't stop on a dime he ends up running her down and leaving nothing but a mangled body on the ground.

She doesn't look like she will make it.

You curse yourself for your idea not working but since she was distracted by a cellphone, you wonder just what you were expecting.

As the time you have left ticks down to zero, time around you seems to freeze. Everyone who had been gathering to see what happened stop moving, some mid-stride and even a cup that was blown by the wind and rolling toward you on the platform is frozen mid-air.

"Teenagers and their cellphones, always getting them into trouble," you hear a voice say from behind you. It is the same voice you heard an hour ago when you signed that contract.

You turn around and find yourself looking at some kind of phantom. A featureless, white porcelain mask sits where a face should be on a black hooded cloak. It has no form or body, and where eyes should be in the mask you see only darkness.

"As you can guess, I've come to collect you but I don't have much time to chat, or play right now. Be a good servant and wait for me in my realm as I see if this teenager would be willing to accept my deal, and actually complete it," the phantom says, then promptly vanishes before you can respond.

You feel the ground below you start to sink, and glance down to see that it isn't the ground but you who are sinking. You try to move, to escape, but find that your entire body is frozen just like all the people nearby.

You can only watch helplessly as the ground swallows you up and deposits you into a dark abyss where you can see nothing but yourself, and darkness, all around.

"Oh, make yourself comfortable," the phantom's voice says, filling up the abyss, "We will have an eternity to spend together and this will probably be your last chance."

A cruel, haunting laughter fills the abyss as you realize the phantom won't be letting you go even after you've paid your debt. You suddenly wish you hadn't signed that stupid contract.
