You decide to stay as still as possible, focus on breathing to recover a little and try to listen in on the voices you hear.
At first you only hear distant murmurs, but as you lie still your ears become more sensitive and you start to be able to make out a word here and there. They're talking about some sort of trade, getting good merchandise, being really lucky.. are these people traders? You remember there being traders on the courtyard before, they were always very nice people and you start to feel relieved again. Untill you hear one of them shout out loud.
"I tell you once we sell that dumb brat on the slave market we'll have enough money to start our own business, fuck Gladys, she doesn't matter. The easterners pay gold coin for slaves like her you hear me? GOLD!"
Realization stabs trough you like an icy dagger - these people are slave traders, they're planning to sell you off to the horrible easterners as a slave!
You would have screamed out loud, but thankfully, the cloth in your face muffles any sound you make.
Panic takes a hold of you, you were captured by slave traders. Noone knows where you are, you can't count on anyone to come rescue you. You are fully immobilized without the slightest hope of getting free.
What do you do?

Bite off your tongue - you'd rather die than be shipped to the easterners and sold as a slave
