There is no suitable material close by; you have to venture deeper into the jungle. You make sure to orientate yourself via recognizable landmarks. After about half an hour, you finally find some bushes with fibrous capsules. You collect as many as you can and head back. You find Cate edging the fire pit with large stones.
"Everything okay with your boobs?" you ask.
"Yes, I got it done. Put the stuff down here."
You comply and return to the jungle to gather wood. There are plenty of suitable branches all over the place. You gather two arms full of wood within a few minutes. Grunting under the load you carry them back to the camp. You return twice to the woods until Cate tells you you'll have enough wood for the night. There's already a small fire burning, and Cate carefully manages it until you finally can put larger branches on.
While Cate manages the fire, you get a stone with a sharp edge and clobber down a vine. With two sticks you improvise a clothesline over the fire. You could now dry your clothes, but then you'd have to endure a heightened chance of cuts and bruises on your body - and cuts and bruises in a tropical environment also bare the danger of infections. Your shins and arms look bad enough.
