You wake up early. For a minute or so you wonder why your bed seems to be moving until you remember where you are. After breakfast, Cate and you take part in a mandatory emergency drill. Due to the size of the ship, the passengers have to go through the drill in turns; that is why you don't see your children until lunchtime. You meet up in an Italian restaurant. You opt for veal, while the children have pizza. Cate has spaghetti with seafood.
After the meal, you ask your family about their plans for the afternoon. Kirsten plans to go shopping. Will is very unspecific; he says something about 'getting acclimated' to life on board.
"Looking for girls, ey?" Kirsten blurts out.
"Bite me," Will answers, beet-red. Oh - your son is looking for a holiday romance? You better keep an eye on that, just to be sure.
Debra looks like the idea of shopping on board of a cruise ship grows on her. And Cate - Cate discovered the liner has a wellness/fitness area available.
You don't know if those activities are really what a cruise is about; there is a whole ocean to discover. On the other hand, the cruise program has two regular stops for those interested in watching wildlife, and it has been announced that the chance to spot whales in these waters is not high. At this time of year, whales are found in more southern waters.
