Downfall/Keep an eye on Debra 1

From Create Your Own Story

You follow Debra to another section of the store. She picks three bracelets from a rack - small plastic trinkets, priced 4.99 - and slips them on her wrist. She checks herself in a nearby mirror. She returns to the rack, and then you see what you didn't want to see. Debra hangs back only two of the bracelets. You cannot see the third, but you assume she has hidden it in her hand because she fiddles around under the hem of the backside of her skirt.

Before Debra can even think about leaving the store, an unremarkable man with a toothbrush mustache makes towards your daughter. If you aren't wrong, it could be a spotter. A souvenir shop might not keep security personnel, but the shopping district as a whole probably does. Shop theft must be a problem, no police station being around.

You doubt much harm will result in this matter. The trinket virtually has no value. What can they do? Bar her from the store, maybe even bar her from the shopping district. The shock of being caught may become a valuable experience to prevent further misbehavior (no doubt initiated by Kirsten, even if you won't be able to prove it). On the other hand, the spotter has such a smug look on his face. You know the type - he can't wait to lecture Debra about the wrongs and rights and flaws in character. No doubt he will expand the lecture to the subject of how to raise a child properly when you pick up Debra from the security office.

What is it going to be?
