You are fascinated by the mysterious aura that surrounds Lord Ruairi, and hope that you'll be able to uncover all of his secrets.
You smile. "It sounds like this is going to be an interesting trip," you say, They've prepared a carriage but you don't feel like being caught up in that carriage for hours so you shoo them off. "I'd rather ride the horse". You're feeling rather impatient so you order "We'll be much faster if we take only the guards on horseback, tell the servants they can stay here". They start to complain that you'll need servants to look after your needs but you cut them off "I can take care of myself for a few days and I'm sure Lord Ruairi can spare a few servants to look after me when we arrive on his lands".
You take off without paying them any further attention, followed by your guards. Duran rides up next to you. "I thought you were staying," you say finally.
He shakes his head. "We're only supposed to escort you to the inn at the nearest village, Lord Ruairi's men are supposed to take over from there". He smirks "We feel we can't just leave our cute little princess alone tough, so if you'll have us, all of the guards volunteered to remain in your service."
Ignoring the 'cute little princess' comment, you ask "Us? You're willing to stay at my side as well?".
"I'm one of the guards, aren't I?" he says lightly.
"But- you've been in father's service for over 20 years and are a personal friend of his. Will he even be able to get by without you?"
He throws back his head and laughs. "You aren't getting rid of me that easily, lass! Yer father is a capable king, picked 'im as my lord fer a reason. 'Sides, someone's gotta keep you in line."
You roll your eyes. It occurs to you that perhaps you could learn one more thing about this mysterious Lord.
"Well, if this ride's supposed to take until sunset, at least you could tell me about this place we're going to."
