Yellow is the Warmest Colour
From Clumsy Media
"Yellow is the Warmest Colour" is a song recorded by Korean rapper and singer-songwriter Jeanie. Written by Jeanie in collaboration with the song's producers Shawn Kubica and Simon Hessin, the song was released on December 18, 2015 as her first offline single and simultaneously, the sixth online single release. Musically, the song is a ballad with a prominent dream pop influence, shadowed by trance elements, with the lyrics describing Jeanie's reminiscence and fond recollections of a past lover.
The song received generally positive reviews from music critics, who compared it to the work of Lana Del Rey and commended its composition. Meanwhile, the music video received a mixed reception, for allegedly "bringing back white colonialism." Following the release of 1989, it was met with moderate commercial successes, charting in the United States, Canada, and Australia on the strength of digital downloads. After its release as a single, it reached number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the fifth consecutive top-10 song from 1989 and Swift's 19th top-10 hit on the chart.[3] Later a remix by Dutch DJ R3hab was released digitally in October 11, 2015, with a duration of three minutes and seventeen seconds.
