Sweetheart Shore
From Clumsy Media
Sweetheart Shore (originally Sweetheart on the Shore) are an Japanese indie rock band under Clumsy Media, consisting of lead singer Florence Welch, Isabella Summers, and a collaboration of other artists who provide backing music. The band's music received praise across the music media, especially from the underground scence and teenagers in Japan, before they gained mainstream success.
The band's debut unofficial mini album, Sweethearts, was released in 2009, and held the number-two position for its first five weeks on the Japan Albums Chart. The band's independant success earned them a major label contract the very next year. Their official major debut album, Lovers on the Shore was released February 22, 2013. It was able to debut at number one on the Oricorn Weekly Music Chart, becoming the band's second consecutive number-one album in Japan. It also debuted at number one on the iTunes Japan Albums Chart and peaked at number six on the 2012 Oricorn Yearly Albums chart.
On 17 January 2010, the album reached the top position, after being on the chart for twenty-eight consecutive weeks.[3] As of October 2010, the album had been in the top forty in the United Kingdom for sixty-five consecutive weeks, making it one of the best-selling albums of 2009 and 2010. The group's second studio album, Ceremonials, released in October 2011, debuted at number one in the UK and number six in the US.
