Early life

McWylie was born as Peter James Rowan McWylie in Sydney, Australia on September 15, 1994. He's the youngest son of five siblings to David and Susan McWylie. Prior to his acting activities he was a first year student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology majoring in Economics. He has since applied for academic leave.

Career

2012-current: Early work

McWylie was scouted at the Clumsy Global Auditions 12'-13' at the Hilton Central Hotel , located in Sydney and made his acting debut in the drama thriller film Veronica Marks. His popularity first reached its peak with X-Men: Days of Future Past.

On January 17, 2014 it was confirmed that McWylie has dropped out of filming for Children 44, citing schedule conflicts and on the same day he announced he will take part in gothic romance Crimon Peak which will begin filming in February and finish in May. Throughout the same period he also took part in filming The Avengers sequel which is scheduled for release in late 2015. In July it was announced that he has been cast in an adaption named The Associate of the same titled novel by John Grisham alongside Zac Efron.

Personal life

On April 5, 2015 it was revealed McWylie had dropped out of filming for The Associate in order to "continue his educational pursuit". He has since resumed his undergraduate degree at MIT. He formally graduated in June 2017.

McWylie currently resides in Bondi Beach of Sydney, Australia.

McWylie is close friends with Australian rules footballer Daniel Hannebery, who plays for the Sydney Swans in the Australian Football League (AFL).
