Career

2011-current: Audition, training and debut

Whilst in school Oh was advised by a friend to audition for the entertainment company Clumsy Media's series of private auditions, offered to schools specialising in special talents such as dance academies, in order to skip class lessons for the day. She attended the Shanghai revenue stop under her Korean registered name of Oh Yoo Yoon and immediately caught the attention of the judges with her unique and youthful appearance as well as her fluency in the languages of Mongolian, Chinese and English. Despite her outstanding acting abilities the officials did not let her pass the second round as she did not have a second talent. However two weeks after the audition Oh was contacted again by phone and was notified that she had passed the audition ultimately.

Her audition video was noticed by an A&R within the company and after persuasion she was offered a trial contract. Oh began a series of training in Japan and Korea, specialising in acting during her school holidays and often returned home when school classes resumed. During this time she auditioned for the Korean film A Muse, but the role ultimately went to label mate Kim Go Eun instead.

In 2013 she auditioned for the big budget Chinese film Personal Agreement which she successfully gained a role in.

2014-current: Early works

Following a string of auditions, Oh appeared in the Chinese drama Divorce Lawyers and two Korean films; Thorn and My Palpitating Life in the latter of which she officially made her mainstream debut. She also made her musical debut through Frankenstein in the same year. On August 28, 2014 she was cast in the Korean film Dad and Daughter alongside Park Shin-yang.

In 2015 Oh's first project was announced on January 30 with her casting to the Chinese fantasy film, Feng Shen Bang which entered into filming the following month.
