Lee Anetta (born March 26, 1995) is a American commerical and broadway actress. Anetta was scouted at the Clumsy Global Auditions 12'-13' at the Los Angeles Record Center in 2013. Upon graduating from high school, she was accepted into The Juilliard School's drama division on full scholarship admission.

Early life
Anetta was born in Houston, Texas, United States as Grenner Lee Anetta Charles to Flynn Peace Charles, an executive banker and Anetta Devonhart, a primary school teacher. His father has English, Scottish, German, and Welsh ancestry, and his mother has German and Irish ancestry. She is the youngest and only daughter of six children. Her youngest brother Blanchard Lee Peace Charles is a runway model.
During her childhood, the family lived mainly aboard, in Australia, Japan, Vietnam, France, Russia and Greenland due to her father's work commitments. In her teenage years, she was raised in Canterbury, Kent, England and ultimately graduated from Simon Langton Girls' Grammar School. During her teenage years she acted in local theatre, and reportedly by the age of seventeen, had decided to pursue an acting career. Her parents were initially opposed to the idea but showed their support after she was accepted into The Juilliard School on a drama scholarship.
Anetta's native language is English and she is fluent in German and French. She has stated her favourite actor is Christopher Waltz and cited him as "one of the key reasons if not, the reason" that got her into acting.
Career
2013-2016: Early works
Anetta made started her acting career in the Showtime psychosexual horror television series Penny Dreadful, playing the love interest of Dorian Gray which is portrayed by Reeve Carney. Filming began on October 7, 2013 and lasted for five months. The first series, which consists of eight episodes made its debut on May 11, 2014. During the series' filming, Anettta caught the attention of a staff who introduced her to director Damien Chazelle, leading to her eventual casting in the Academy winning film Whiplash.
In the following year, she made her Broadway debut in If/Then at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on March 27, 2014. On July 6 it was announced she had been cast in the film adaption of the best-selling novel Americanah which tells the story of a young Nigerian woman who emigrates to America for a university education.
