SEX M

AGE 25

APPEARANCE

Calum stands 6'2 with a lean, athletic build. He has a thin face with blue eyes, high cheekbones and a pointy chin covered with a ginger beard, forked into two short plaits. His hair is gelled into a mohican, and has been dyed purple. His arms and chest are covered in tattoos, most of which are Gaelic or Celtic in design. He wears combat boots, green wool socks, a Ross tartan kilt, a black Iron Maiden tshirt and a black leather biker jacket, with a large patch sewn on the back displaying the band name 'R Herwyr (A Welsh Celtic punk group) and some artwork- a helmet-wearing skull with a crossed pair of axes behind it.

PERSONALITY

Calum is a friendly enough chap, and quite social. Despite his rather dishevelled, violent-looking appearance, he tries to be a good, polite gentleman to the womenfolk. Although not usually a deliberately violent man, Calum has no moral problems with fighting, and will step in to help someone he likes or respects if they're involved in a scrap. Calum is fiercely proud of his heritage, despite never actually having visited his 'homeland'. He's a bit of a heavy drinker, and his main passion in life is his music.

BRIEF BIO

Calum is a third-generation descendant of Scottish immigrants, and ever since he was a child he was fascinated with that country. At school, he did poorly, just scraping through. This was a combination of not really getting some subjects, and apathy in others. He knew what he wanted to do as an adult, and he didn't need qualifications for it. The only subject he did well in was music. He learned how to play several instruments, but his favourite was always the bagpipes. Fortunately, his grandpa's old set was well maintained, and it was passed down to him. Otherwise, he'd never have been able to afford a set. After leaving school, Calum performed solo and in various bands. The last band he was in split up a few months ago and he's been busking since, his lively, spirited music (Often accompanied by dancing) and outlandish appearance often drawing lucrative crowds. Sometimes he'd perform with a friend or two singing or playing the fiddle and share the takings with them.

CONNECTION

Calum busked regularly in one spot- better for 'business' that way. It just so happens that this spot lay on Clara's route to and from school. She would often stop for a while and enjoy the show, the Scotsman's antics putting a smile on her face. He never noticed the strange girl in the crowd, and merely nodded in thanks the one time she approached him and tossed a handful of change into his box.
