The Real Rubyrulez Episode #5
Rubyrulez promised to visit Georgia, but he also has a ton of chores to do. In order to get all the chores done, he builds a robot to take his place. After the robot switches to DIE mode, Rex tries to keep him under wraps.

{Cut to a shot of Rubyrulez’s house. After the music stops, cut to Ruby’s door. Rex is standing outside.}
REX: Dude, you home?
RUBYRULEZ: {yelling} I’m in the garage Rex!
{Rex starts walking toward the garage. Cut to the inside of the garage. Rex is standing next to Rubyrulez.}
REX: Dude, I thought we were going to go to that thing today, you know.
RUBYRULEZ: You mean the Computer Programmers Convention for Virtual Reality programming.
REX: Yeah!
RUBYRULEZ: Sorry Rex, not today, I promised Georgia I’d hang out with her today.
{Cut to Close-up of Rex}
REX: {upset}Aw, but dude, I thought you were gonna clean house today, I was gonna say you could leave that till later.
{the word "funny" flashes next to rex. Cut to close up of Ruby}
RUBYRULEZ: Well, you know what they say, Little Miss can’t be wrong.
{Brief pause. Cut to a blank screen that reads "This scene has been cut, besause I said so!"}
REX: Um…OK, now you’re just quoting Spin Doctors.
{Cut to a screen that says "D'oh", then cut back to Ruby and Rex.}
RUBYRULEZ: {annoyed} D'oh…you’re not supposed to make the references obvious…
REX: So, why are you in the garage?
{Cut to close-up of Ruby}
RUBYRULEZ: Well, as it turns out, in order for me to complete my chores and see Georgia, I decided to take the liberty and…
{Rex pops on screen}
REX: …say “Ah, screw it all!”
RUBYRULEZ: No! I decided to build a robot to carry out my dirty work! Meet, Robo Ruby!
{Cut to a shot of Robo Ruby. Cut back to Rex.}
REX: {slyly} Your dirty work? I see what you mean.
{Ruby appears on screen, piece by piece}
RUBYRULEZ: Actually, it’s…what I mean is…shut up Rex!
REX: Why don’t you just come with me, they’re going to have this special presentation on VRML.
RUBYRULEZ: You see, this is why you don’t have a girlfriend…
{Rex looks annoyed}
REX: You’re increasingly stupid!
{Ruby holds up a small remote. He presses the button on the remote to power on Robo Ruby}
RUBYRULEZ: Robo Ruby, power on!
{Cut to the RoboRuby as he begins to activate}
ROBO RUBY: I am set to chore mode, master! Also, Green Day is awesome!
{Cut to a shot of Rex, with a speech bubble above his head. As he talks, the words appear in the speech bubble.}
REX: {amazed} Wow, that’s incredible.
{Cut to a shot of Rex, Ruby and the RoboRuby.}
RUBYRULEZ: Well, I’m glad you like it. Anyway, I’m off to see Georgia.
{Rubyrulez leaves, leaving Rex with RoboRuby}
REX: Eh, forget about the Virtual Reality whatever, I think I’ll stay here with you.
ROBO RUBY: Has my master departed yet?
REX: Um, yes…
{Robo Ruby’s right arm changes to a laser gun. The words "Die mode" appear on the screen."}
ROBO RUBY: Now switching to DIE mode!
REX: Really, because the coincedence of you changing {Cut to a shot of an angry RoboRuby} from happy robot to pissed, deadly robot, is rather prismatic.
ROBO RUBY: DIIIIE!
{A laser beam shoots from RoboRuby's gun. The words "Poorly animated explosion in da house!" appears on screen. Rex screams. Cut to a shot of outside Georgia’s house. After the music stops, cut to the Living Room. Ruby and Georgia are sitting on the couch.}
RUBYRULEZ: And that’s why, the viewing public doesn’t think me or this cartoon, is cute!
GEORGIA: Well, I for one think you’re cuter than cute!
RUBYRULEZ: You think? Well, then maybe there is hope…
GEORGIA: Well, not to a point where there would be any hope…but OK.
RUBYRULEZ: I haven’t known hope for 86 years, until I got this ring just last year.
{Rubyrulez shows off the ring on his finger.It has a red letter "B" on it.}
GEORGIA: {dazzled} Wow, that’s amazing, where did you get it?
RUBYRULEZ: Oddly enough, I found it while sweeping.
{Blank Screen}
{Cut to Sonnet Town. Once the music stops, cut to a street in Sonnet Town's Downtown area. Rex is walking around.}
REX: Wow, hunting down the Robo Ruby is going to be so incredible, the town will probably give me a medal! Or maybe some mac and cheese.
{Rex walks up to Rob Ot and RZ-14, from Roboticz. They are both wearing phony moustaches.}
REX: Have any of you seen a killer robot with death lasers pass by?
ROB OT: Um, I don’t know what you’re talking about. Robots don’t exist.
REX: Um, yes they do…
RZ-14: He’s on to us! Run, you idiot!
{Rob OT and RZ-14 run off, Rex looks confused}
REX: {confused} What nice gentlemen…?
{Scene switches back to Georgia’s house. After the music ends, cut to the living room. Georgia is standing there.}
GEORGIA: {giggle} So does that answer your question, baby?
{Ruby appears in pieces. The words "My 'In Pieces' Problem" appears on the top of the screen.}
RUBYRULEZ: Sure does, I had no idea that Dr. Phil helped people with that sort of problem.
GEORGIA: Well, now you do!
{There is an explosion. Georgia screams as Robo Ruby appears in the now broken wall.}
ROBO RUBY: Time to DIE!
RUBYRULEZ: Sweet, death at the hands of my own creation!
ROBO RUBY: Yes, and also, REM is awesome!
GEORGIA: {Frightened} Do something Ruby!
REX: {Off Screen} I’ll take care of this!
{Rex appears in the hole created by RoboRuby}
RUBYRULEZ: Rex?
REX: OK, you robot…of death! Prepare to feel the wrath of Rex!
RUBYRULEZ: Rex, you idiot!
{A shot is heard. Cut to Rex, dead.}
GEORGIA: {upset} That thing killed Rex!
ROBO RUBY: You’re next, any last words before I KILL!
RUBYRULEZ: I have some last words.
{Cut to a shot of Robo Ruby in pieces. Rubyrulez and Georgia look at him.}
GEORGIA: He gave his life doing what he loved, which was killing!
RUBYRULEZ: I’ll never forget how he found random bands awesome! Anybody up for a trip to the grocery store.
{Rob Ot appears on screen, still wearing the fake moustache}
ROB OT: You can count me in!

- This is a reference to the band "Spin Doctors"
- "...is rather prismatic."
- Prismatic refers to a type of joint a robot could have, and means "Linear Movement"
- The poster hanging in Ruby's Garage is a reference to McDonalds
- The slogan on the poster is also a knock on their current slogan "I'm lovin' it!"
- "VRML"
- VRML is a text file format where, e.g., vertices and edges for a 3D polygon can be specified along with the surface color, image-mapped textures, shininess, transparency, and so on, and actually has not much to do with Virtual Reality.
- The entire exchange between Ruby and Georgia regarding his finding a ring is a reference to How the Boston Red Sox won the 2004 World Series:
- "I haven't known hope for 86 years" (Refers to how Boston hadn't won for 86 years)
- "Oddly enough, I found it while sweeping" (Refers to how Boston swept the St. Louis Cardinals to win the World Series.)
- The bands that the RoboRuby find awesome are Green Day and REM, both of which are real bands.
