Julian Keller/Hellion

Julian Keller is best known as Hellion. He’s from the New Mutants and New X-Men: Academy X comics. Of the students at the academy, it’s arguable that he’s Emma’s favorite (until he decides not to listen to one of her orders). As an individual, he’s a problematic, egotistical, manipulative, smart mouthed, and overly confident young man—everything that Emma would look for in a youth like him. He has telekinetic abilities and actually has a very good control over them.

Background
Julian is the son of two parents who made a deal with the devil, so to speak, in order to have fame and wealth. By time he was twelve years old, his parents spent ten thousand dollars on his birthday party. Indeed, it was this kind of upbringing he was used to, but when it came to being proud about his mutant abilities, his parents told him to hide it. A proud individual, Julian was unwilling to do so and quickly found himself in the position of leaving to go attend Xaviers’ institute. He was first placed under Northstar as an advisee, but he eventually switched to being under Emma Frost. She proved to be an all-too-proper match for him (and she even let him acquire the codename “Hellion”).
While at the institute, Julian has become a bit of a big man on campus. He was someone that Josh Foley was drawn to because of this, and he eventually became attracted to Sofia Mantega. But neither of these individuals remained a part of Julian’s close circle of friends—Josh because Julian found out he was a member of Purity and decided to persecute him, and Sofia because she was closer to [[Laurie Collins] and her friends. He, however, grew to be a leader and good friend to Kevin Ford, Brian Cruz, Cessily Kincaid, Santos Vaccaro, and Sooraya Qadir (though lesser so with her).
He’s gotten into a bit of trouble as a Hellion, but he’s proved himself to be an excellent leader. Despite this, he was taken off leader when the new group of X-Men were formed, and he was put beneath Noriko Ishida, who he was not necessarily close to. This has hurt Julian’s pride quite a bit.
In Purgatory
His arrival in Purgatory left him informing Laurie, all too bluntly, that she had been killed (since her friends hadn’t been nice enough to inform her). On top of that, he managed to be a bit of a pain in the sides of the New Mutants, especially since he only had Sofia to buffer him (who he has remained romantically interested in). He has ended up in a position of being able to talk Emma into staying with the students, but she has forced him to agree to not tell anyone about the agreement (and he knows that she would know if he told anyone).
Along with that, Julian has brought Kevin back to the mansion, even if it was definitely not what he wanted.
