Editing Shin Chan and the California Stimps

Shin Chan and the California Stimps is an animated TV series that debuted on September 19, 2006. It is the [[Taylor Media Stations Group|Taylor Media]] series based on [[Crayon Shin Chan]] and was produced by [[Crayon Films]].  The first show based on the manga was Shin Chan, which debuted in 1992. 

The first season ran for 65 episodes and the second season for 21 more. Each episode contains cleaner humor included a backup segment with clean humour featuring the California Stimps, which is why this show is sometimes referred to as Shin Chan and the California Stimps. While the series is currently on the air, a movie, aptly titled Shin Chan and the California Stimps Movie, was released which was a compilation of clean humour with a little drama and romance from this show.

Reruns are not currently aired, but a few DVDs have been released. In 2004, Crayon Films released two DVDs each with 9 segments from the show. Then, the following year, Shout! Factory released a set with the first 24 episodes of the show.

Critics are speculating that Taylor Media and Crayon Films will continue producing and airing new episodes of Shin Chan and the California Stimps in 2009 due to excellent viewership.

Although the third season was ordered for broadcast, the show is currently airing in late-night syndication on October 8, 2008 in a radical restructuring of [[Anime National]]'s primetime block. The final five episodes of the series were aired on [[The Crayon Channel]].  


Taylor Media has indicated that it's possible that Crayon Films will produce a fourth season of the series airing on [[Anivision]], although there has been an official confirmation that the series is on hiatus. However, the series was renewed again to be broadcasted on Anime National's primetime block for its final fourth season. Crayon Films has suggested that future movies may be produced, even if they are aired on [[Animovie]], [[ON-ANIME]], or The Crayon Channel. Crayon Films began producing the final fourth season for Anime National's fall primetime as of now.

On April 11, 2009, Taylor Media announced that it had syndicated the show to [[Live Network TV]] altogether, and there were still plans to air Season 4 this fall.

After boost in ratings, Anime National eventually decided to extend the show another season, with one of their major reasons being to promote the Shin Chan and the California Stimps spin-off series [[The Mitzi Show]], which will be Anime National's ultimate addition.[10]

On April 30, 2009 it was announced that Anime National ordered at least two more specials to give the show a proper promo for a fifth season.[13] The show's fifth season will be made for the 2010-2011 season,[14] Crayon Films later announced that they would produce the episodes, and the Season 4 repeats would go to Live Network TV,[15] with another statement special September 11, 2009, that the network will air a half-hour special on October 13, 2009.[1]

According to the Anime National's primetime schedule Anime National has begun broadcasting Season 4 as of September 4, 2009, with it's new spin-off [[The Mitzi Show]] making it's series premiere on September 7, 2009. The show's reruns on the Live Network TV is currently broadcasting for the time being. A small selection of movies can now be viewed on [[The Crayon Channel]].. In addition, Anime National has also broadcasted its' sister program [[Super Happy Funtime American Show]] which can also be seen on [[Anime Music Television]].

The future of Season 5 is currently in production due to higher ratings in October 2009. Future Speculations went in as private disscussion following announcement that Season 5 will premiere on August 13th, 2010 at which time the conclusion of the show will end with the series finale in May 2011. For all intents and purposes, the August 13th premiere of Season 5 will be the final season of the series.

On January 1, 2010, it was announced that a final movie would be made in the Spring of 2011 by members of Anime National Pictures.
