HB Journal for Sep 22, 1939

This is our morning to lay in bed, so lay in bed we did. Any one knows you can't sleep much after it's time to get up, so we didn't.

Jane went to work and I dried the breakfast dishes. Then I went to the garage, then the barber shop. I came home & made dinner.

I returned to the mill with my supper in my hand & worked until nearly midnight.

I enjoyed myself making phone calls and reading a little bit. The moon was as swell as the day had been.
