HB Journal for Oct 24, 1939

From Brackbillwiki

I foolishly stole fifteen minutes sleep this morning & was late for work, although Allen was the only one ahead of me.

After starting the mill, I discovered she was badly in need of a few minor repairs. The needed attention, I hurried ahead to give her, not knowing the extent of her incapacities, and was still "hanging about" after quitting time, still unfinished.

After a big supper I washed the dishes & read awhile. Jane went down home & brought some flowers up.

We had a lovely fall day. Not chilly yet cool and clear. There is a moon.
