HB Journal for Oct 21, 1939

Somehow I managed to get up when I should have. As a result I had to wait for Groffie but still was first at the mill.

We were not rushed for a change & I got caught up with my book-work. I shot a rat.

In the afternoon I cleaned my chicken house & sprayed it, finished digging potatoes & cleaned my car.

After supper I went to Shirk's & Ilse's. It was raining hard with a thunder shower attached so that the lights here went out for an hour.

I guess it is bed early.
